Student opportunities

Graduate

Dr. Weiskittle supervises graduate students in the Clinical Psychology PhD Program with Major Area of Study in Geropsychology and in the MA Psychology Clinical Track. Instructions and requirements for applying to graduate school at UCCS can be found here.

The lab WILL be accepting MA students for Fall 2024 matriculation.

The lab will NOT be accepting a new Clinical Psychology PhD student for Fall 2024 matriculation.

In the interest of promoting equity, Dr. Weiskittle does not meet with potential students or applicants outside of the graduate program’s formal application process. Emails expressing interest in applying to the lab are welcomed but do not impact on the odds of receiving an interview invitation or admission offer. Prospective students are encouraged to review the online materials to learn about the lab’s research directions, culture, and values.

Undergraduate

We are looking for motivated, detail-oriented, and hard-working undergraduate research assistants to join our lab. Primary duties vary from semester to semester, but we aim to give research assistants experience in all aspects of the research process. After you have some experience, we can talk about how you can develop your own research projects or even co-author some of ours.

We support student-driven applications for funding undergraduate research. For example, we have supervised an Undergraduate Research Academy (URA) Fellow and are keen to support applications for this in the future. We are also open to advising honors projects and aim to supervise one honors student each academic year.

There are not currently any externally funded undergraduate opportunities in the lab, but there could be in the future, so please check back later.

Postdoctoral

There are no postdoctoral opportunities with pre-existing funding available at this time. However, we are always open to collaborating on applications for externally funded fellowships. Please contact Dr. Weiskittle if you are interested in organizing a collaboration opportunity.

Fellowships

We are always open to supporting external fellowship applications from motivated prospective postdocs and students (graduate or undergraduate) who are interested in joining the lab. Please contact Dr. Weiskittle if you are interested in applying for a fellowship that would support your involvement with the Weiskittle Lab.
